Leak When You Laugh, Sneeze or Jump? You Don’t Have to Just Live With It

Bladder leaks are common. That doesn’t make them normal, and it doesn’t mean you’re stuck with them.

Sound familiar?

You cross your legs before you sneeze. You skip the trampoline with the kids. You know where every toilet is at the shops. Maybe you’ve started wearing a liner “just in case”, every single day.

You’re not alone. Bladder leaks are really common, especially after babies and through perimenopause and menopause. But most of us just quietly put up with it.

Why it happens

Your pelvic floor is a sling of muscles that holds up your bladder and keeps things closed when pressure goes up. Pregnancy, birth, hormones and years of heavy lifting (toddlers count) can leave those muscles weaker than they used to be. When they can’t squeeze hard or fast enough, a cough or a jump wins.

What you’ve probably tried

Kegels. Lots of them, in the car, at the lights. The problem is most women aren’t sure they’re even doing them right, and very few keep them up long enough to notice a change. It’s not a willpower thing. It’s hard to train a muscle you can’t see.

A simpler way to train your pelvic floor

Emsella is a chair. You sit on it fully clothed for 28 minutes while it uses HIFEM energy to trigger thousands of deep pelvic floor contractions, about the same as 11,000 Kegels in one session. No undressing, no probes, little to no downtime. You can go straight back to your day.

How it works

  • Free consult. A private 15-minute chat with Jacci about what’s happening and whether Emsella suits you.
  • Your sessions. Most women do 6–8 sessions, twice a week.
  • Keep it up. We’ll talk about simple habits and when a top-up might help.

What to expect

Many women notice fewer leaks and feel more in control after a few sessions, with the best results once the course is done. Everyone is different, and Emsella works best alongside healthy habits, not instead of them.

If you have heaviness or a dragging feeling, pain, blood in your urine or a sudden change, please see your GP or a women’s health physio first. We’re happy to work alongside them.

Questions women ask us

Do I have to undress?

No. You stay fully clothed. Loose, comfy clothes are best.

Does it hurt?

Most women feel strong tingling and tightening. It’s not painful, and we can adjust the intensity.

Is it just for mums?

No. We see women after babies, women in perimenopause and menopause, and women who’ve never had kids.

Can I do it if I have a prolapse?

Talk to your GP or women’s health physio first, then bring their advice to your free consult so we can plan safely.
